With the casting process getting underway for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman reboot, the rumors are starting to come through. The latest casting rumor is regarding the role of Lois Lane. According to What’s Playing, Anne Hathaway is topping the list of contenders for the role. Now just because she is a contender doesn’t mean she’s at all close being confirmed for the role. We’re sure she’s on a list of contenders that includes all the usual suspects. A list that usually includes names like Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz etc.
In addition to the Anne Hathaway rumor, we have some details on the story. First up is the plot and What’s Playing is saying that:
“the plot involves Clark getting involved in some sort of battle between two tribes in West Africa. When he is compelled to use his secret powers to intervene in a crisis in West Africa, Clark returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and the hero he was born to be.”
In addition to this, we also get some info about the character of Clark Kent. Apparently, Kent is:
“a young journalist, traveling for the globe, who would rather solve problems and help people without resorting to using his special powers.”
So there you have it. A whole bunch of new information on the upcoming Superman film. The plot looks interesting and it seems like they’re going in a new direction, which is a good thing. I’m not sure about the Hathaway thing though. I’ve never been a big fan of her, and there are a number of other actresses I’d rather see in the role. I’m hoping that rumor doesn’t come true.
