Will Benicio Del Toro’s Collector Swing By For An Appearance In Avengers: Infinity War?

If an Instagram post is anything to go by, Benicio Del Toro's Collector could swing by for an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s no secret that Avengers: Infinity War is set to feature the biggest ensemble cast in Marvel history – and that’s not hyperbole, it’s ostensibly fact. Heck, Guardians star Dave Bautista wagers that every current MCU character will have a role to play in Joe and Anthony Russo’s 2018 event film. That’s an awful lot of costumed crusaders, but will the Russo Brothers find room in their ranks for The Collector?

Speculation is rife that Benicio Del Toro’s eccentric being will feature in Infinity War, and a recent Instagram post from Criminal Records really adds fuel to the fire. First spotted by Comic Book, the picture below sees Del Toro posing for a photo in the Atlanta record store, the city that is currently hosting Joe and Anthony Russo’s team-up movie. It’s by no means an official confirmation, but given that Josh Brolin (Thanos) has already teased a reunion with his Sicario co-star in the MCU, all signs currently point to The Collector having some screentime in Avengers: Infinity War, however brief.

In related news, we know for certain that Brolin’s Mad Titan won’t feature in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 later this year, as he’s being reserved for Infinity War in 2018. Kevin Feige considers Thanos to be the main character of Joe and Anthony Russo’s crossover which, on paper, sounds like an astute solution to Marvel’s longstanding villain problem.

Civil War showed that Joe and Anthony Russo know how to handle a superhero ensemble with aplomb, and the filmmaking siblings will take that to a whole new level when Avengers: Infinity War slams into theaters on May 4th, 2018. Next up for the MCU though is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which is set to launch May 5th of this year.
