We already know that Batman is going to show up in Suicide Squad, and there were rumours last year which pointed to the Caped Crusader making his presence felt in Wonder Woman‘s present day bookends, too. However, where does all of that leave the Man of Steel?

Talking in a recent interview with Brazilian magazine Superinteressante, Batman V Superman star Henry Cavill confirmed that Superman is “not in ‘Suicide Squad,” before adding:

“In ‘Wonder Woman,’ I haven’t heard anything yet, but watch that space. And in anything else, I don’t know just yet if anything else gets shot between.”

Wonder Woman hits the big screen ahead of Justice League, so seeing The Trinity reunite there would be a great way to transition into another team up following their first meeting in Batman V Superman later this month.

It’s also worth noting that while Ben Affleck is in the early stages of developing a solo outing for The Dark Knight, we’ve heard absolutely nothing about what’s next for Superman. With that in mind, giving this iconic character a more significant role in the DC Films Universe as we wait for news on that would be a smart move by Warner Bros.

Will it happen? That remains to be seen, but at least we’ll see plenty of Clark Kent in Batman V Superman in just a few weeks from now.
