In case you haven’t already noticed, the internet has been going crazy with news concerning Zack Snyder’s Justice League today. Unleashing a number of set visit reports onto the web, Warner Bros. has placed the spotlight firmly on their upcoming DC Comics film, and we’ve been learning a lot of new details about it over the past several hours.
One tidbit that emerged that seems to have been overlooked amidst all the commotion is about Willem Dafoe and specifically, who he’ll be playing in the film. When the actor signed on, there were no details on his role. Now, however, we can tell you that he’ll be stepping into the shoes of Nuidis Vulko.
For those unfamiliar with the character, “Vulko is the storied scientific advisor to Atlantis who, one of the most notorious political figures in Atlantean society, and a long-running supporting character in the Aquaman comics. Vulko is a key player in Atlantis; a venerated academic and politician who comes from the generation before Aquaman’s — a fact that will be reflected in the character’s on-screen design.”
We don’t know how exactly Vulko will factor into Justice League, but with an actor like Dafoe in the role, you’ve got to believe that he’ll have a pretty significant presence. Speculation points to him being involved with the much talked about Mother Boxes, but at this point, we can’t confirm anything.
Justice League will storm into theatres on November 17th, 2017. While we await more details on Vulko’s role in the film, sound off below with your thoughts on how he’ll be involved in the plot.
