As the finishing touches are added to Logan‘s second trailer (expect it to premiere mid-way through January), 20th Century Fox is really beginning to step up its marketing push for James Mangold’s R-rated threequel.

We’ve had somber nighttime shots of Hugh Jackman’s lonely mutant and entire banners dedicated to Wolverine’s grand finale, and now, a new, sun-kissed Logan poster has clawed its way onto the interwebs. Embedded below, this stylish new one-sheet is essentially a more complete version of the banner poster, and one that continues to drum up the film’s Western sensibilities. And what’s a Western without one character walking off into the sunset?

Rooted in a bleak, apocalyptic future wherein the mutant population is on the wane, Logan is unlike anything we’ve ever seen from Fox’s X-Men universe. Thanks to the inclusion of Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier – not to mention the raft of Easter eggs and references – there’s no question that Mangold’s actioner will honor the legacy of the X-Men series. But with its gritty tone and the father-daughter dynamic between Wolverine and X-23 (Dafne Keen), if nothing else, Logan is poised to close the book on Hugh Jackman’s superhero career with a relatively standalone story that at once feels familiar, yet refreshingly new.

Logan will make a beeline for theatres on March 3, 2017. Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez also star.
