Wolverine Will Join The Avengers When He Enters The MCU

When Wolverine enters the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he'll be joining the Avengers and fighting alongside Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

With Avengers: Endgame now out of the way and numerous storylines and character arcs having wrapped up, what comes next for the MCU? Well, with the ink finally all dried up on the Disney/Fox deal, Marvel now has their hands on the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four and what better way to move forward than to bring us new takes on iconic heroes like Wolverine?

Clearly, that’s something that Kevin Feige is planning, but what exactly lies ahead for Wolvie and the rest of the mutants? Well, it’s a bit too early to be discussing exact plans just yet, but according to sources close to We Got This Covered, Marvel will be looking to the comic books as they so often do and plan to have Logan join the Avengers at some point.

Those who read the source material will know that Wolverine was a central part of the team in classic stories like “Civil War,” “Secret Invasion,” “Siege” and “Age of Ultron,” among others. As such, it makes perfect sense to have him join the Avengers in the MCU, too, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

Of course, the plan is to first introduce Wolverine into the MCU on his own and as a member of the X-Men before he joins up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. That’s not to say he’ll leave the mutants behind, though, as we understand that he’ll play a role on both teams – again, just like in the comics.

Given that Kevin Feige’s already said that it’ll be at least another five years before the X-Men enter the MCU, we imagine we won’t hear anything official on this for some time yet. But seeing as this comes from the same source who told us about the Endgame re-release post-credits scene before it hit theaters, and who confirmed Robert Pattinson as Batman, we’re inclined to believe them.

And again, Wolverine has been seen standing alongside the Avengers many times in the comic books, so it really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone when it occurs on the big screen, too. Though it will undoubtedly be an incredible moment when it finally happens.
