Wolverine purists rapidly heal minor flaws on ‘Deadpool 3’ set photo

Maybe those sleeves will eventually get torn off in the movie.

Wolverine fans should be rabidly happy about the fact that longtime actor for the role Hugh Jackman is not only returning for Deadpool 3 but he is sporting a more comics-accurate yellow suit in the film. However, that hasn’t stopped some purists from going a step further with how Jackman looks in the movie.

To give you an idea of what I’m talking about, the set photo of Jackman and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool were released by none other than the Australian actor himself, via his Instagram. As you can see, it looks pretty much exactly like the comics, except he has sleeves and isn’t sporting a mask of any kind.

Somebody with a knack for Photoshop wasn’t entirely satisfied with Jackman’s look in the movie and decided to do a mockup of the actor with the aforementioned missing mask and without any sleeves in order to show off Huge Jacked Man’s guns in full glory.

We must admit, the result is a lot better than we were expecting. It all makes us wonder why they didn’t go full claws-to-the-wall with Logan’s look in the movie. On the other hand, a lot of Reddit users surmised that perhaps Wolverine’s sleeves get ripped off through the course of the film, perhaps through some kind of freak accident.

A lot of fans also wondered whether the sleeves were there simply so Jackman doesn’t have to get ridiculously ripped again in his advancing age. After all, he’s a talented and Oscar-nominated actor but not a mutant himself.

Whatever the case, we are simply grateful to Jackman for reuniting with co-star Reynolds for the first time in their respective Marvel roles since the terribly-realized X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Deadpool 3 hits theaters on May 3, 2024.
