The Wolverine’s Yellow Suit Makes An Appearance In A Deleted Scene

Nowadays, when we see everyone's favorite mutant Wolverine, he's usually shirtless and without a mask. Nowadays, when we see everyone’s favorite mutant Wolverine, he’s usually shirtless and without a mask. That wasn’t always the case though as fans of the character will no doubt remember his iconic yellow costume from the comics. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, every time the character has appeared on film, it has been without his famed spandex suit.

Most recently, we saw Logan in James Mangold’s The Wolverine. While that was perhaps the character’s most enjoyable outing yet, we were still left without his original costume. Or were we?

In a deleted scene from the film that can be found on the Blu-Ray/DVD (which releases December 3rd), we actually get to see Logan receiving a special package from Yukio (Rila Fukushima) which contains the iconic yellow suit.

Now, this brings up several questions. For one, why wasn’t it used in the film? Secondly, what does this mean for the character’s future? Will we see him don the spandex for the recently announced sequel? Judging by what we’ve seen from X-Men: Days of Future Past, it doesn’t look he’ll be wearing it in that film so I’m putting my money on seeing him use it in Mangold’s sequel, unless of course they just dismiss it entirely.

Then again, if they were going to do that then why include the scene on the Blu-Ray? It’s clearly a tease for fans and I, for one, would be thrilled if they found a way to incorporate it. That being said, they couldn’t just have him put it on out of nowhere, there would have to be some kind of explanation as to why he’s dressing like that all of the sudden.

However this all ends up playing out, it’s still interesting to see that Mangold did have some plans in place for the costume, whether he ends up acting on them or not is a different issue. At the very least, it’s a nice easter egg for fans and hopefully we’ll get to see Logan don the suit in the character’s future outings.
