Admittedly, when we got our first look at Gal Gadot as the titular heroine in Wonder Woman 1984, a lot of fans simultaneously felt excited and underwhelmed. Sure, the Amazon Warrior looked as awesome as always, but many were hoping to see her decked out in an all-new costume.
After all, the outfits she wore in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman and Justice League were all more or less the same as what we’ve seen of her so far in her solo sequel. Aside from brightening the colors, the wheel hasn’t really been reinvented all that much.
Thankfully, though, it seems that Diana Prince will indeed strut her stuff in at least one other costume when Wonder Woman 1984 arrives next year. And as it turns out, it’ll be the cult favorite Golden Eagle Armor, which was rumored for the film a while back.
Don’t believe us? Just check out this gorgeous new poster in the gallery below, which features the heroine front and center.
How exactly this awesome new suit will factor into the sequel, we don’t yet know, but it certainly looks fit for a thrilling third act fight – or perhaps even something comparable to the original’s No Man’s Land scene? Either way, we can’t wait to see Gal Gadot slip into the costume on screen and put it to good use.
With Warner Bros. skipping out on Hall H this year at Comic-Con, we wouldn’t expect to see much of Wonder Woman 1984 next month in San Diego, but you can rest assured there’ll no doubt be plenty more promotional material on the way before the pic arrives in theaters next year, on June 5th, 2020.
