World War Z Passes $500 Million Worldwide To Become Brad Pitt’s Highest Grossing Film

Were you one of those critics who wrote off World War Z as just another dumb zombie film? Did you criticize it for being too tame and straying too far from the novel that it was based on? If so, then it looks like Brad Pitt and Paramount have had the last laugh as the film has passed the $500 million worldwide gross mark and has also become Pitt's highest grossing film, ever.

Were you one of those critics who wrote off World War Z as just another dumb zombie film? Did you criticize it for being too tame and straying too far from the novel that it was based on? If so, then it looks like Brad Pitt and Paramount have had the last laugh as the film has passed the $500 million worldwide gross mark and has also become Pitt’s highest grossing film, ever.

Though not an incredible number for a big-budget studio flick starring one of the world’s most recognizable stars, $500 million is still impressive for a film like World War Z. If you recall, in the weeks before it released, buzz was extremely negative and people were tearing the film to shreds. It also had a very troubled production and nobody expected it to be any good, or to make back its over-blown budget. Sure, it cost about $220 million to produce but still, $500 million isn’t a bad number, especially for a film like this.

Of course, now this brings up the dreaded question of will Paramount make a sequel? There have already been reports stating the they are already moving ahead with one, so it looks like the answer is yes, unfortunately. Then again, we haven’t really heard anything too official in regards to a follow up so who knows? It may not ever happen.

Tell us, are you impressed by the box office business that World War Z has done? Would you like to see a sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
