Wrong Answers Only: Who does Stephen King think Robocop is?

Anytime Stephen King gets involved with an internet trend, we know its worth our while.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s — Robocop? Interesting choice Stephen King, but fine, we’ll bite. Responding to a tweet made earlier this morning, it looks like King is officially giving an answer as to who he thinks is behind that iconic mask.

Now as you know, or might not (Robocop was made more than 30 years ago), the iconic ’80s sci-fi hero is played by none other than Peter Weller — the Hollywood legend best-known for classics like Leviathan, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Buckaroo Banzai.

Of them all though, Robocop may be the role Peter Weller is best known for, yet that hasn’t stopped the internet from having a little fun at Weller’s expense. So, wrong answers only, who the heck is this crime-fighting cyborg?

Oddly enough, Stephen King is half right. Joel Kinneman actually did play Robocop in the 2014 remake of the film, and although it received lackluster reviews, Kinneman’s performance wasn’t half bad.

So who else do the denizens of Twitter think this guy is? Their answers are all over the place, and we couldn’t love it more.

Definitely could be the G.O.A.T.

The resemblance is uncanny.

We’re actually surprised DeVito wasn’t offered the role. With a track record like his, he’d have been perfect. Right?

It’s clear that everyone is enjoying giving out the most ludicrous answers they can think of, so for fear of spoiling them with our ramblings — here’s a few to speed through before you start your day.

Regardless of who you think it is, there’s no denying the influence Robocop has exerted on moviemaking since its 1987 debut. Who knows? Someday robotic cops might not be a thing of the future, and if that’s the case, we hope whoever ends up protecting us is as cool as Peter Weller.
