While we’ve heard a few tantalizing teases about what the post-credits scene in X-Men: Apocalypse might involve, it’s only today that we finally have a detailed breakdown of what exactly we’ll be seeing once the film hits theatres next week.

According to a report from Bleeding Cool, the sting appears to set up the appearance of Mister Sinister, which many people had guessed. Here’s the full description:

“We see a besuited man walking through the remains of the Weapon X clean-up programme, removing the blood, bodies and bullets. And a suited man retrieving vials of Wolverine’s blood labelled Weapon X. And placing them into his briefcase which contains other vials of differing colours. Slamming shut, it is labelled ESSEX CORP.”

So, it’s not an outright confirmation, but given that Sinister’s real name is Nathaniel Essex, we’re feeling pretty confident that this is exactly who the film is teasing here. As for where he’ll show up, that’s still unknown, but obviously The Wolverine 3 seems like the most obvious option at this point.

What’s more is Bryan Cranston might be the one to play the part, given that he’s voiced his desire to so in the past. Of course, that’s a far cry from getting him to sign on, but if he’s still interested, Fox would be smart to approach him.

The reveal of Sinister certainly raises a lot of questions, but for now, all we can do is speculate on how he’ll enter the X-Men cinematic universe and wait patiently for Apocalypse to hit theatres on May 27th.
