Zac Efron Reportedly Being Eyed For Adam Warlock In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

One only has to look at the various online fan art of Zac Efron as Kyle Rayner or Wolverine to know that there’s some demand out there to see the Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile star join a comic book universe. And according to a new rumor relayed by Marvel Infinito, his chance may come with James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

According to the unverified report, Efron is being eyed for a role that was explicitly teased in the post-credits of 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. We are, of course, referring to Adam Warlock, though it’s also said that Efron isn’t the only one in the running for the part. Apparently, Lucas Till is under consideration as well, and while his name may not be as recognizable as Efron’s, he does have some comic book movie experience under his belt, having played Alex Summers, aka Havok, in the X-Men movies.

Seeing how Vol. 3 isn’t expected to go into production until early 2021, it could be a long wait before we get some confirmation on who the MCU’s Adam Warlock will be, though now that Gunn is back on the project, it feels safe to assume that the series will follow through on the tease from Vol. 2.

But before Gunn can get round to shooting the threequel, the director still has a whole other movie to film. DC’s The Suicide Squad is expected to go into production later this year, and is set for release on August 6th, 2021. With that in mind, we’re probably looking at a 2022 release for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but first, we’ll be seeing at least some of the gang back on our screens when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
