Zack Snyder Looking For A Bat-Mate For Batman vs. Superman

While technically Batman vs. Superman is a Man of Steel sequel, don't expect the Caped Crusader to be a mere bit player in the film. Now that the matter of who will be playing Batman has been settled, and now that the reaction to the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman has also settled, director Zack Snyder is apparently on the lookout for a capable young actress to play the part of Batman's love interest.

While technically Batman vs. Superman is a Man of Steel sequel, don’t expect the Caped Crusader to be a mere bit player in the film. Now that the matter of who will be playing Batman has been settled, and now that the reaction to the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman has also settled, director Zack Snyder is apparently on the lookout for a capable young actress to play the part of Batman’s love interest.

Latino Review reportedly got a hold of a casting breakdown sheet that’s currently making the rounds at Hollywood agencies, and although Batman’s alter-ego Bruce Wayne is a well-known playboy, it appears that Snyder and Co. have a very specific type in mind to court the Dark Knight in Batman vs. Superman.

So who are they looking for? A woman who just happens to fit the following description:

They’re looking for someone in their late 20s and are open to all ethnicities…. They’re being very specific and looking for an actress who is both tall and possesses physicality.

Sounds like this character is going to be more than Bruce Wayne’s arm candy, but it begs the question, is this going to be an entirely new character, or one that’s well-known to comic book readers? Perhaps another embedded future member of the Justice League? A certain wondrous woman, maybe?

Of course, that’s idle speculation with absolutely no evidence to back it up. It is curious though since Batman doesn’t have a steady love interest like Superman and his Lois Lane. Sure, he’s had romantic entanglements with Catwoman, Vick Vale, Talia al Ghul, and many more, but does anyone in Bruce Wayne’s little black book stand out as an obvious choice?

Then again, it could be an entirely new character too, but what it does suggest for certain is that Batman will be on par with, or close to, Superman in terms of the amount of screen time they’ll receive.

Batman vs. Superman, starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Ben Affleck , will begin shooting early next year for a 2015 release date.
