The question of who would direct the next Superman film is one that has been floating around Hollywood for a while now. Christopher Nolan revealed his shortlist a while ago and now we finally know who will be behind the camera.
According to Deadline, Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) will be directing the new Superman film. Snyder may not have many credits to his name but every single one of them is solid. Ever since Dawn of the Dead, back in 2004, I’ve kept my eye on Snyder, following all his films. He still hasn’t made a bad movie.
He has two upcoming films which both look great. Sucker Punch is in post production and from all the footage we’ve seen so far, I think Snyder has another hit on his hands.
Snyder is also working on Xerxes, the sequel to 300. Not much is known about the film but I really can’t see it turning out badly.
As for the choice of Snyder as the director on Superman, I’m very happy with the choice. I think he’ll provide a fresh and unique take on the franchise and I’m looking forward to seeing what he does.
