Man Of Steel still hasn’t hit theaters for its wide release, that won’t happen until Friday, but Warner Bros. is showing their confidence in the film by letting it be known that not only will a sequel to Zack Snyder’s Superman flick happen, but it’ll be headed our way faster than a speeding bullet.

That’s right, Man Of Steel 2 is officially on Warner’s fast-track, but that isn’t the only news we have about Superman’s future. There’s also word that Snyder and screenwriter David Goyer are both going to be back for the sequel.

We still don’t know how involved Christopher Nolan will be in the next film. He’s downplayed his involvement with this one so far (although word is his touch can be felt throughout), and it seems that his role in the next will be even smaller, possibly even just his name attached.

There have been talks of a Man Of Steel trilogy for a while now, but nothing has been confirmed in terms of a third film. That being said, who makes a two-film series these days? I’d say barring something unforeseen, Warner will try to get this duo back to complete the trilogy.

If Man Of Steel somehow bombs, things can always be reconsidered. Contracts can be revised, and people can be fired. After all, if a script is terrible, the studio isn’t going to let it go into production. But it appears Warner has found what they view as a dream team in these two, and they want to milk them for all they’re worth. If Man Of Steel is as good as we’re hoping, I’m not opposed to that at all.

What do you think of Snyder and Goyer returning for a Man Of Steel sequel? Would you like to see that pair handle an entire trilogy? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
