In celebration of Batman Day, Zack Snyder has given us our first look at Commissioner Gordon in Justice League. Played by J.K. Simmons (who’s already done shooting), it’s a shadowy photo (which you can see below) that just barely reveals the character, but we’ll take what we can get at this stage. Plus, with production now wrapping up on the film, you can bet that we’ll be seeing a lot more of it in the months to come.
This new still of Gordon follows hot on the heels of another photo that set the internet on fire – the shot of the Caped Crusader’s new batsuit, which hit the web earlier this week. This one is likely to cause less of a fuss though, as it really doesn’t show a whole lot. Still, fans will no doubt begin to start formulating their opinion on whether or not Simmons will be able to surpass what Gary Oldman did with the character in Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
In related news, we’ve been hearing quite a bit about the film in recent weeks, with word that it’s going to be very different from what we saw in Batman V Superman and that despite earlier reports, the Joker will not be making an appearance in it. Instead, Bats will be going up against Deathstroke – which is something that we cannot wait for.
As mentioned above, we’ll no doubt be getting more from Justice League very soon, but until we do, check out the first shot of Gordon in the gallery below along with an image of Snyder himself.
