Details on Zack Snyder‘s upcoming Man Of Steel are becoming increasingly harder to find. Snyder is taking a cue from producer Christopher Nolan and keeping pretty quiet on all things surrounding the plot of the film. Today though, information on the plot premise seems to have been dug up in The Baseline Studio System. Bleeding Cool tells us that while searching through the system’s database, they stumbled across the plot premise for Man Of Steel. Now the studio hasn’t confirmed if this is 100% accurate or not but Bleeding Cool likes to think it’s a fair bet to assume that this will indeed be the premise for the film. Here’s what they dug up, word for word.
A young reporter named Clark Kent roams the world covering various news stories. When he is compelled to use his secret powers to intervene in a crisis in West Africa, he returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and the hero he was born to be.
So there you have it. That is most likely going to be the premise for Snyder’s Man Of Steel. It doesn’t say much but we do get a picture of the timeline that the film will occur in and a general idea of what we’ll be seeing. Once this piece of news starts circulating around the internet I imagine Warner Bros. will likely comment on it. I’m guessing they’ll confirm it and release an official plot summary. And when they do, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
This plot premise does make sense though. It ties into what we’ve heard from previous rumors and it would also fit in well with the whole attempt to make the film’s story similar in nature to Batman Begins, which writer David Goyer is trying to do. A couple people have also pointed out that the plot is similar to Superman: Birthright, which was a comic mini-series written by Mark Waid. So if you’re looking for more on the plot, maybe give that series a read. Perhaps that’s where the filmmakers went to for inspiration on the story.
