Unfortunately, the bad news for TomorrowWorld doesn’t look to be ending any time soon, as it’s being reported today that a 22-year-old male from Florida, named Connor McGinnis, passed away on Saturday, September 26th from a suspected drug overdose.

This news comes hot on the heels of the transportation fiasco that occurred over the weekend at the festival, leaving thousands of people stranded overnight with no way to get back into Atlanta. While it’s becoming more common to hear about drug overdoses at EDM festivals than it is to not, this might just be the final nail in the coffin for what was once one of America’s most celebrated dance music events.

With ID&T’s (TomorrowWorld organizers) parent company, SFX, already in hot water due to financial issues, the whole TomorrowWorld debacle certainly isn’t helping matters. Now, with a reported drug overdose, there’s no doubt going to be even more bad publicity cast over the fest. At this point, I really can’t see it returning next year.

Organizers still have yet to release an official statement detailing plans for TomorrowWorld going forward, and there still isn’t much being done in the way of making it up to the people who were stranded on Saturday night, but as always, we’ll keep you posted when we hear anything more.
