CHVRCHES Cover Calvin Harris And Rihanna’s “This Is What You Came For”

CHVRCHES cover Calvin Harris and Rihanna's hit "This Is What You Came For" for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.

CHVRCHES shook things up a bit during their performance session at BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge when the trio added some signature flair to a cover of Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s smash hit, “This Is What You Came For.”

The synth pop group made the Taylor Swift written track their own, as front woman Lauren Mayberry’s haunting vocals supplemented the song’s electronic elements with perfection. In addition to the cover, CHVRCHES also performed their original song, “Bury It,” for the program.

“Bury It” is taken off the band’s second full-length album, Every Open Eye, which saw a release in September of last year to critical and commercial success. Every Open Eye debuted at number four in the U.K. and became the first top ten charting album for them in the United States.

This year, the Scottish-based band had “Bury It” remixed to feature Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams in a guest spot, and they also contributed to the video game Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst when their new track, “Warning Call,” acted as the action adventure game’s theme song.
