Coldplay’s fifth album is in the works. In a recent interview, lead singer Chris Martin told the BBC that the band is working on their fifth album, which is going to be a concept album and producer Brian Eno is assisting them. Speaking about the album, Martin said the following.

“It’s from the point of view of two people who are a bit lost,” says frontman Chris Martin. “Two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together.”

Sounds pretty ambitious. Martin said that while the group is close to finishing a number of songs, the album won’t be out anytime soon. Martin still has some work to do on the lyrics and the album is far from done.

It’s good to know though that the band is actively working on it. Hopefully we’ll get a release date soon.
