Dr. Dre’s ‘Detox’ Drops on 4/20?

We previously reported that Dr. Dre’s long-awaited (that’s an understatement) album ‘Detox’ was supposedly going to release in February. Well that’s not happening anymore…surprise surprise. Instead, Dre says that it’s going to drop on April 20th or as the stoners say “4/20”.

This news appeared in a Twitter video posted by Just Blaze. In the short video he says “You know what album’s coming out February 15,” referring to Saigon’s also long-awaited album ‘The Greatest Story Never Told‘. He then adds “But then guess what else comes out?” and pans the camera revealing Dr. Dre.

Pow pow! Four-twenty, baby! Four-twenty! I’m comin’!” was all Dr. Dre had to say with Just Blaze chiming in “You might just see a unicorn this year too!

This strikes me as odd since for one, 4/20 falls on a Wednesday, while most albums traditionally release on Tuesdays. Second, Dr. Dre stated that he didn’t want people to think the album was about weed yet 4/20 is the international stoner’s number.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. There’s been so many delays now that it’s laughable. I’ll believe it when I have the CD in my hand. Check out the short video below.
