Drake Tells Crowd He’s Working On New Music

Drake recently announced the postponement of a couple dates on his "Summer Sixteen" tour. The rapper is over 50 dates deep in his run with Future, but after suffering an ankle injury, he’s being forced by doctor’s orders to take a rest – thus, shows in Toronto, Philadelphia, and one of the two in Newark will have to be rescheduled. Drake recently announced the postponement of a couple dates on his “Summer Sixteen” tour. The rapper is over 50 dates deep in his run with Future, but after suffering an ankle injury, he’s being forced by doctor’s orders to take a rest – thus, shows in Toronto, Philadelphia, and one of the two in Newark will have to be rescheduled. However, there’s good news to come along with it: new music from Drake is in the works.

Despite the announcement of the rescheduling, Drake still put on a show last night in Chicago, when he said to the packed arena that he’s “been working on new music in the studio every night.” Cue fan eruption. The statement to the audience is accompanied by social media posts from Drake and his producers, alluding to new music when they posted on Instagram about new beat packs coming through. Additionally, it wasn’t long ago that Kanye West spoke about the upcoming collaboration album he’s planning with Drake, who’s also planning to drop another mixtape next year, too.

It hasn’t even been six months since his latest album, Views, came out, but Drake clearly has his eyes set on the future for the next chapter of his legacy. Perhaps the most fun part about it is that nobody knows if this new music is going to result in a Kanye collab, a mixtape, or an entirely new record, but whatever it turns into, it’ll surely be worth the hype.
