Fergie Announces An Early 2017 Release For New Album

Pop singer and former The Black Eyed Peas star, Fergie, made her dazzling return a few weeks back when she dropped her newest single, “Life Goes On.” Catchy and upbeat, the track was a different form of pop for her -- it had hints of Kelly Clarkson rather than the urban vibe on this past summer’s single, “M.I.L.F. $.” Still, it was more than enough to get fans begging for more.

It was widely speculated that a new Fergie album – her first in over ten years – would be arriving imminently, but she set the record straight recently after announcing when it’s really coming out. In a Facebook Live stream, Fergie says that her follow-up to 2006’s The Dutchess will be out “in the beginning of next year” with a sound that mixes reggae, pop, and hip-hop.

So, even though the album, for now titled Double Dutchess, isn’t coming out as soon as most people would have hoped, at least it’ll be with us in the near future. In the meantime, you can distract yourself by spinning Fergie‘s “Life Goes On” – before you know it, news on a release date will emerge.
