It’s funny to think that at the end of last year, electronic music fans were worried that deadmau5 might hang up his hat as a producer (and troll, of course). Between Project Entropy WIPs and his upcoming Eric Prydz collaboration though, the ‘mau5 is as prolific as ever in 2016, and he might have just suggested that his new album is on the way as well.
A video posted to the Mau5trap Facebook page depicts an animation of the iconic mau5head logo slowly emerging from what abstractly resembles an avalanche. No text or voiceover provides any other information, leaving the viewer guessing what it could mean.
Last month, deadmau5 revealed that he had completed six tracks for an upcoming album that would consist of 9-12 in total. Considering the pace with which he turns out music, the other 3-6 could feasibly be mixed, mastered and ready for the masses.
Nonetheless, deadmau5 has not announced a title, release date or any other other information for the effort, but as soon as he does, we’ll be sure to provide you with the details.
