Justin Bieber has done it again, capturing the hearts of young girls everywhere with the new music video for his hit song As Long As You Love Me. The cinematic clip, directed by Anthony Mandler, sees the Biebs hopelessly in love with a girl whose father doesn’t approve of him.

In a somewhat odd guest role, actor Michael Madsen steps in as the father while rapper Big Sean pops up to assist Justin on the track. Throughout the video the teen heartthrob is beaten and battered as he fights for his girlfriend. As strong as his love is though, it seems to be no match for the violent father.

While the plot is cliched and totally recycled, it’s kicked up a notch here and when spliced in between Justin busting out his dance moves, it makes for a rather exciting video.

Hands down this is Justin Bieber‘s most mature video to date and perhaps, his most impressive one yet. The cinematography is pretty good for a music video and it has a very cinematic feel to it. Plus, it also doesn’t hurt that the song itself is a hit in every sense of the word.

While I can see some fans being turned off by the vid, as it’s definitely a bit more intense than what we’re used to seeing from the pop star, I think it’s a step in the right direction for the Biebs and shows, once again, his eagerness to mature his sound and look and break free from the “teen pop star” status that has been thrust upon him.
