It’s been just over a week since Avicii hung up the towel and officially retired from performing following his final live gig at Ushuaïa in Ibiza. In the wake of his last show, the Swedish music sensation took to social media to promise fans he would continue releasing music, which is the perfect time for some unreleased material to surface.
A fan edited lyric video has popped up online of Avicii’s unreleased song “Without You” featuring Sandro Cavazza, and it’s rumored that the tune will be featured on the follow-up album to Stories.
“Without You” is in line with Avicii’s more melodic, pop driven sound that first surfaced on True. The nearly six minute anthem features acoustic instrumentation and catchy vocal hooks juxtaposed against mainstage ready house beats and his trademark synth melodies, resulting in a true fan pleaser.
Avicii fans may have already heard the track numerous times, as the Swedish DJ used it as a set opener during a number of gigs leading up to his retirement, including his performance at Ultra Miami earlier in the year. Regardless, it’s still great to hear some new material from the producer following his retirement, and we’re looking forward to whatever he dreams up next.
