As The Chainsmokers continue on with their dominance of mainstream music with chart-toppers like “Roses” and “Don’t Let Me Down,” the DJ duo have now teamed up with pop vocalist Halsey on what may be their biggest single yet. Though the new collaboration won’t be officially released until tomorrow, the full song has hit the internet for streaming and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

“Closer” is probably The Chainsmokers’ most pop friendly song to date, featuring a catchy duet approach to the vocals between Halsey and Andrew Taggart. Emotive piano chords forge a sturdy backtrack alongside simple hip-hop style beats, leading into upbeat drops with memorable melodies and staggered rhythms.

The dance music influence on “Closer” is as subdued as we’ve heard from The Chainsmokers yet, and we expect their new song to completely take over the airwaves this summer.

“Closer” will officially drop tomorrow, but you can head here to grab the pre-order. And in related news, if you haven’t yet done so, check out the duo’s unreleased collab with Matoma, which surfaced earlier today.
