With less than a month to go until Madeon drops his debut album Adventure, anticipation is certainly mounting. With previously released singles like “You’re On” and “Pay No Mind” experiencing huge success, fans are eager to see what Hugo has in store for them. Thankfully, the French producer has given us one final track today to whet our appetites.
Titled “Home,” the song has a rather interesting story behind it. For 24 hours straight, Madeon locked himself in his studio and by the 18th hour, due to “sleep deprivation, creative frustration and isolation,” he was left in a vulnerable state. It was at that moment, when he felt like giving up on music, that he wrote “Home.”
The emotional track is notable for the fact that it features Hugo’s vocals, which compliment the pop-y chords perfectly, making for another stunning effort from the young prodigy.
Take a listen to “Home” above and check out some Tweets from Madeon below regarding the making of the song. Then, head on down to the comments and let us know what you think of it.
I have this thing I do about once a year. I lock myself in the studio for 24 hours and make two or three new songs from start to finish

By the 18th hour, the combination of sleep deprivation, creative frustration and isolation put me in this weird vulnerable state. — Madeon (@madeon) March 9, 2015
I kind of felt like giving up on music to be honest, so I made a song about that.

Because I was alone in the studio and had a microphone, I ended up recording it myself and finished producing it in the few hours remaining. — Madeon (@madeon) March 9, 2015
I dont see myself as a singer but I thought it would be weird to have anyone else do the song so I kept it the same as the demo on the album
