Mashup Of The Day – July 12, 2010

Mashup Of The Day is a daily column that will take a look at new mashups that are circulating around the internet. Today’s mashup is called Punkroses and is done by El Barto and Liam B.

The mashup is made up of the following:

Outkast – Roses

Daft Punk – Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

This is one of my favorite mashups out there. It’s not that new but for some reason I’ve seen it on a bunch of music blogs recently. It takes the music from Roses and mixes it with the vocals and some beats from Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. It has a real techno/dance feel to it but at the same time it’s kind of a chilled song. It’s one of the most played mashups on my iTunes and it’s definitely worth a listen.

I’m not a big fan of Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger as a standalone song but when it’s used in other songs like Kanye’s Stronger or in this mashup, it sounds really good. It’s a track that has been mixed, mashed and redone so many times but it always sounds good when put together with another song.

I’ve never really liked the song Roses either but like Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, it sounds better when mixed.

Overall this is a very good mashup and I suggest you check it out.
