Nicki Minaj announces new record and right on cue social media explodes

Nicki Minaj has sent fans into a frenzy with the announcement that new music is finally coming.

Nicki Minaj is returning to the studio with the announcement that she is dropping a new album five years after her last studio release. The rapper shared the news via Twitter on Monday, and all the Barbz that love her are losing their minds.

Minaj’s announcement comes with a release date, which the artist reveals as Oct. 20, 2023. This will be her first studio album in five years, after the release of her last album Queen back in 2018. The lauded rapper has broken numerous records in her time, including most Hot 100 singles for a female artist, surpassing even Aretha Franklin in 2017 — Taylor Swift later topped Minaj.

Not much else is known about the album, but we can hope for more collaborations, just as she did with Queen, which featured many other notable artists, including Eminem, Lil Wayne, Future, and Ariana Grande. There have been signs pointing toward the artist working on an album again, with her 2022 single “Super Freaky Girl” topping the Billboard Top 100, as well as her more recent single “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which landed in the No. 13 spot on the charts after a release back in March of this year.

This new album could be the first she releases under her own label, Heavy On It, which she announced the creation of earlier this year. Of course, with the news of this new album has come an onslaught of celebration from Minaj’s fans, who affectionately refer to themselves as Barbz. They are going wild over the idea of new music from the acclaimed rapper and are sharing their excitement all over Twitter.

Many of them posted with the simple tag of “Nicki Minaj is coming.”

Their excitement has also been accompanied by some of the most striking moments from her music videos.

All of this is happening in an effort to get Minaj trending on Twitter, with the desired result having been achieved.

For some, the news is a culmination of their answered prayers.

Many refer to Minaj as the GOAT, which we believe is what they were trying to get across here.

We imagine that all her Barbz will be ready and waiting to consume her album once it is released in October.

With another four months still to wait, we are yet to hear an album title, but we are sure that her army of followers will be sat on the edge of their seats for any new information she deigns to hand out until the album officially drops.
