RedOne’s original production for “Don’t You Need Somebody” already fit the track for summertime with its its warm, laid-back melody, but Bernstein and Rannix’s remix reinforces these elements by speeding it up and adding a high-pitched synth lead over the top line. A reverberant bass line subtly underscores the new version as well, giving it an added measure of dance appeal just before festival season begins to approach its peak.

In regards to the remix, RedOne said:

[This remix] is sickkkkk and genius! You can tell when someone really young is going to be doing big things in the industry. Josh Bernstein is one of those rare people who you just know is going to be a force.
