After releasing “Matahdatah Scroll 01 ‘Broader Than A Border'” in June, fans of M.I.A. have been waiting anxiously for the promised LP. Now, she’s instigated even more discussion after posting a photo (seen below) with Skrillex, suggesting that he’ll have a hand in the production of this new album.
No further comments have been made regarding his involvement, but seeing as Sonny has been collaborating with everyone lately, it wouldn’t surprise us in the least.
M.I.A. has said of the release:
“The concept for this LP is ‘broader than a border’ and Matahdatah is the journal of Matangi. Sometimes I move vertical and sometimes I move horizontal.”
There’s no telling what to expect, but Scroll 02 should be dropping anytime now, though there’s still no confirmed release date for Matahdatah.
