Following a grande finale show on Sunday evening, the iconic nightclub Space on the Spanish party island of Ibiza is now officially closed. The club’s final night of festivities included a performance from veteran DJ Carl Cox, who ushered in the end of an era with one last live set.

Always one to go out in style, Cox finalized his last performance at Space by playing what will be remembered as the famed club’s swan song, opting for an emotional tribute in the form of Angie Stone’s “Wish I Didn’t Miss You” to bring the thirty year old club brand to an end. It’s a fitting send off for Space as well, as Carl Cox himself was associated with the club for a total of fifteen years.

Space was brought to a close following the retirement of club owner Pepe Rosello, but like many endings it simply represents a new beginning. The club has been purchased by Palladium Hotel Group, the owners of the recognizable Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, who intend to re-brand and re-open Space as part of their own line of venues on the party destination.
