Netflix misses more than it hits these days, but there’s no denying that the streamer’s steamy romantic “experiment,” Love is Blind, is a standout hit.
Seven seasons in and still going strong, Love is Blind has the potential to reach the heights of longtime reality favorites like The Bachelor. It’s already inspired a whopping eight spin-offs, all set in various other countries across the globe, and it seemingly puts out a fresh season every few months. Viewers are increasingly hooked on the unique reality format, and season 7’s return to normalcy is giving the series a major injection of interest.
Through most of season 7, the contestants seemed hugely successful. The abysmal numbers of season 5, which saw only three couples make it out of the pods, were thoroughly turned around in season 7, which boasts six couples — on par with the most successful seasons so far — and what seemed like strong pairings, at that.
The vast majority of the couples that have made it out of the pods seemed like wonderful pairs with excellent prospects, but many of those relationships soon broke down. By the end of the season, only two couples were still together, plummeting season 7’s success rate massively after a triumphant start.
Which Love is Blind season 7 couples made it past the pods?
Following their time in the pods, six season 7 couples got engaged and headed off on their honeymoons. By the time the season came to an end, quite a few initially strong couples had broken up, leaving the success rate for season 7 among the lowest in the show’s history so far.
Four couples that made it past the engagement stage and onto the honeymoon and living together stage broke up before they made it to the altar. Monica and Stephen, who initially shared a heartwarming connection, were the first to go, after Stephen’s sleep test fiasco, but they were soon followed by several others.
Alexandra and Tim, who seemed picture perfect in the early days, started experiencing issues soon after leaving the pods, and they ultimately split after meeting one another’s families. Tim was even bold enough to inform Alex that he never wanted to see her again, leaving both halves nice and scalded by the end.
Then we have Marissa and Ramses, who, for much of the season, felt like a perfect pair. That is until Ramses decided, at the tail-end of the experiment, to ditch his match for the most ridiculous of reasons, leaving her heartbroken.
Finally we have Hannah and Nick, whose writing was on the wall from the start. Hannah wasn’t impressed with Nick’s looks, she didn’t appreciate his sense of humor, and it seemed everything he did rubbed her the wrong way. To be fair, the man doesn’t know how to boil pasta, so we can empathise, but a relationship that toxic was never meant to last.
Which Love is Blind season 7 couples are still together?
The connection between Ashley and Tyler was evident from the start of season 7. They were clearly among the strongest couplings from the get-go, and as their time in the pods wore on, their chemistry only grew stronger. Despite some rocky moments during their engagement, and the revelation that Tyler fathered several children without disclosing that fact to Ashley, they made it all the way to the altar and beyond. They’re still married and happy more than a year later.
Last but most certainly not least we have Taylor and Garrett, who very nearly derailed their connection early on — when Taylor’s desire to stay anonymous sparked anxiety in her match — but their willingness to forge through the awkward moment created a foundation they ultimately built a marriage on. The pair both said a gleeful “I do” on their wedding day, and the months since have seen the couple grow stronger — and at least a little bit hotter — together.
