A Wisconsin TikToker was eating at Taco Bell when an employee came out front to tell customers what her manager was doing

A drive-thru dispute spilled into the lobby

A Wisconsin Taco Bell location recently became the stage for a heated workplace confrontation that played out in front of dining room customers. The situation escalated when a staff member walked out from the back area to tell diners about her superior’s behavior. The Taco Bell manager followed her into the lobby moments later.

A TikTok user named Michelle, who goes by the handle @michellemerckx, captured the incident on video, according to The Nerd Stash. Michelle had been eating her meal when the argument spilled out from behind the counter. The footage, tagged to Green Bay, quickly drew hundreds of comments about the Taco Bell manager and employee’s conduct.

The tension began when the employee refused a drive-thru order because she was busy cleaning the area. The manager was frustrated as the team had been “slammed for three f— hours,” even though another employee was also helping. However, the Taco Bell manager did not keep this frustration behind the scenes, and customers heard the entire ordeal.

The manager kept going even after the worker apologized

When the employee initially approached the customers, she asked, “Do you guys hear this? She’s a manager and she’s yelling at me.” This prompted the Taco Bell manager to follow her out, where she began scolding the employee for making independent choices. The manager told her subordinate that she is not a manager and cannot just make “executive decisions.”

The core of the complaint was that the employee should have checked with a supervisor before stopping orders to focus on cleaning. The employee listened, acknowledged the concerns, and said, “Okay. Relax.” The employee apologized; however, the manager was not finished. The manager continued to warn her, sighing loudly so the whole room could hear. She insisted, “Do not make decisions on your own. You have to ask. We can get in trouble for this.”

TikTok users split over who was in the wrong, with some blaming the Taco Bell manager and others faulting the employee. One viewer argued reprimands belong in the back of house, while another said the employee brought the dispute to the front. However, a third commenter pointed out that the manager chose to follow her.

The argument stayed verbal. Some replied, “I’m high key on the managers side,” while another said, “ Fire that girl. Her attitude is unacceptable.” Many also said, “I understand the manager but to do that infront of customers is unprofessional.”
