A woman allegedly posed as a substitute teacher in her old high school before telling the polices she ‘hates kids’

A fake substitute teacher said she 'hates kids.'

A 23-year-old woman allegedly walked into her former high school and convinced staff she was a substitute teacher. But instead of teaching a class, she reportedly spent her time insulting students and making offensive remarks, according to Law & Crime. Amy Jones allegedly skipped past the security check and entered the Rufus King International High School in Milwaukee.

Eight teachers were absent that day and she overheard the staff discussing a substitute agency. She claimed to work for the school’s substitute staffing agency and signed the substitute teacher sheet. She was then taken to a fifth-floor classroom with students, where a school employee stayed with her for about 20 minutes before leaving the class.

Jones then reportedly abandoned the lesson and started swearing, making racial slurs, and directing sexual comments at students. She also allegedly sorted students by race and gender, played rap music, and insulted one student by calling him ‘fat boy,’ promoting racism in the class. She also allegedly asked whether anyone had a vape or weed because the class was “so ‘f***ing lame and annoying.’

She faces felony charges

Students eventually alerted the school staff, who contacted police, who got Jones escorted out of the building. When the officers interviewed Jones, she allegedly admitted that she had been bored and ‘hates kids.’

Prosecutors charged Jones with one count of impersonating a public employee and five counts of exposing a child to harmful descriptions. All six charges are felonies. She felt as if this was going to make her ‘famous,’ and ‘she seemed to be excited about that,’ as per the cops.

Fox6 News reported that during her first court appearance, Jones’ defense attorney, Michael Cerniglia, said she”manages bipolar disorder and was experiencing an acute, manic episode caused by delayed home prescription delivery, and was off her meds during the time these allegations allegedly took place.” She was arrested at the West Allis mental health hospital.

The attorney added, “It’s my understanding that Ms. Jones was picked up at a psychiatric facility, and she voluntarily admitted herself for inpatient psychiatric care after this incident.” He said she can return to the facility for inpatient treatment if there is a release from custody.

The Court Commissioner, Rosa Barillas, set a $5,000 signature bond for Jones. She also ordered her to have no contact with Rufus King High International School and the students involved in the complaint. Parents of the students involved in this case of racial discrimination also questioned the school for its negligence.
