Adam Driver battles dinos in ’65’ Super Bowl trailer

The star certainly isn't fighting with sticks and stones.

Trailers for the Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters have been rolling in thick and fast during Super Bowl 2023—among them a very quick spot for Sony’s 65, which shows off Adam Driver going toe-to-toe with dinosaurs using an array of sci-fi weaponry which would look right at home in a Halo game.

In case you weren’t already in the loop, the premise behind 65 is a titillating one—both prehistoric and futuristic, rewriting the history of humanity. In the universe shaped by A Quiet Place writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (both of whom are directing), humans are interstellar travelers in search of a new home.

65 million years before present day, a star ship crash lands on a dinosaur-dominated and hostile Earth. Mills (Adam Driver) and Koa (Ariana Greenblatt) are the sole survivors aboard, and the pair use an array of sci-fi gadgets and weapons to do their best to survive in unfamiliar and dangerous territory.

Sony went all-out with starpower both in front of the camera and behind the scenes for this one—with famed horror mastermind Sam Raimi signed on to produce and the score coming from the mind of acclaimed composer Danny Elfman.

Among the other Super Bowl heavy-hitters were a lengthy first trailer for The Flash, and a glimpse at the new Transformers movie, with many more to come as the night rolls on.

65 crash lands in theaters next month, on March 10.
