‘I ain’t leaving till you print that out’: Mechanic suspects his manager is messing with his timesheet, but her response to getting caught leaves him stunned

He caught her red-handed.

A mechanic in Dallas, Texas, confronted his manager after he says he caught her changing his timesheet to pay him less money. Elijah Jones worked at a Firestone location and recorded the confrontation on video. His girlfriend Nikka posted it on TikTok, and the video quickly went viral with over 2.8 million views.

In the TikTok video, Jones asks his manager to print out what he saw on her computer screen. He tells her, “I need you to print that out. I ain’t leaving till you print that out.” The general manager refuses and says, “I’m not printing anything.” Jones keeps pushing, saying she was editing his time and that he clearly caught her doing it.

Instead of explaining or showing proof, the manager tells Jones to go home. She fired him right there on the spot. According to Motor1, the confrontation has started a big discussion online about wage theft and how companies treat workers. Nikka explained in her post that this problem had been going on for a while.

This wasn’t the first time something felt off

Jones had asked the manager before to fix his timesheet because the system had issues. But she always acted like it was a huge problem and very difficult to do. However, when it helped her, she could pull up his timesheet easily.

Nikka also said the manager would change the work schedule without telling anyone. She believed the manager was targeting Jones but doing it in sneaky ways that were hard to prove. These details made people online even more angry about the situation.

Losing his job hurt Jones financially right away. He is a student at Universal Technical Institute and needed the Firestone job to pay for his diesel mechanic training. The school is an hour away from his home, and the job was also an hour away. He has monthly bills and tuition payments to cover. Stories like this show why trust between mechanics and their customers matters so much in the auto repair industry.

Jones and Nikka made another video after he was fired. They said the firing was stressful but not surprising because Jones felt the manager was already targeting him. He had been smart about it and applied for other jobs ahead of time. He also made sure Firestone paid for his certifications before he got fired.

Still, losing the income is a serious problem. Jones said the manager could have tried to fix the timesheet issue but instead chose to fire him. Even if he finds a new job quickly, the hiring process usually takes two to three weeks. That means weeks without any pay coming in. Many mechanics face challenges working on older vehicles that make their jobs even harder.

Bridgestone, which owns Firestone, said they saw the TikTok video and are taking it very seriously. They are investigating what happened and will take action if needed. However, many workers deal with wage theft problems and find it hard to get help.
