Battlefield 3 Unlocks Will Have You Playing For Years

It looks like DICE is hoping that gamers stick with Battlefield 3 for years after it releases. The game is said to include 10 times as many collectibles as Battlefield 2 had and along with hardware unlocks for weapons, attachments and gadgets, there will be medals, ribbons and service stars for “skill, commitment, and teamplay prowess.” Of course, there will also be an extensive ranking system implemented in the game.

The developer hopes that the game will be the “deepest shooter in DICE’s history.” By the looks of it, I think that the studio will easily achieve this. Battlefield 3 will likely be spinning in most gamer’s consoles for years after the release.

Even to this day you can still almost always find a game online in Battlefield 2. Tons of people are still playing it, despite the fact that it came out a few years ago. It’s the same for most games in the series actually, people just never tire of Battlefield games.

“Battlefield players are among the most loyal out there. Our games are literally played for years by our hardcore fans, and we want to actively support that. There should always be something left to achieve in Battlefield 3.”

The Battlefield 3 blog has more details on all the unlocks but it does look rather impressive. The series has always been known for having a very deep multiplayer component and it looks like with the latest title in the series, DICE is going all out, offering an experience that will keep players busy for years to come.
