To say that BioShock Infinite is one of the most anticipated video game releases of 2012 would be an understatement. Gamers are counting the days as they go slowly by, waiting to get their hands on a copy of the super cool upcoming release from Irrational Games and 2K.

To quell fans’ thirst for more footage from the game, the companies today released a fifteen minute demo from E3. The amazing footage shows off a lengthy section from what looks to be the beginning portion of the game, which takes place on a new island metropolis in the sky, instead of the series’ underwater staple – Rapture. You really need to see it to believe just how great it looks because words can’t do the aerial city of Colombia any justice.

Within the trailer, you can expect to see a ton of vibrant and colourful footage, ranging from the revival of a dead horse, the violent ending of a rally and some insanely frenetic on rails combat. If you’re familiar with this game, then you know we’re not speaking of your standard railway lines. Instead, this combat takes to the skies along transport rails, where one wrong move can mean a terribly long fall to your impending doom, or a run in with a shipping crate.

Enjoy this look into what looks to be one of gaming’s most vibrant and unique worlds yet. Though we must apologize for making your wait harder to bear. It’s tough on us, too. Don’t think you’re alone.
