He will work alongside AL manager, Ron Washington, of the Texas Rangers. This is the second time Farrell has been named to the coaching staff of an All-Star Game team, which also occurred back in 2008, when he served as a pitching coach. That was when he worked for the Boston Red Sox as their full-time pitching coach – a role he vacated this past off-season in order to take the job as the Jays’ skipper.

The Cleveland Indians’ manager, Manny Acta will take on the other coaching job for the American League team, while the National League team will be headed by manager Bruce Bochy (San Francisco Giants,) Kirk Gibson (Arizona Diamondbacks,) and Jim Riggleman (Washington Nationals.)

The All-Star Game and festivities will occur the weekend of July 12 at Chase Stadium in Arizona.
