Though no official announcement has been made regarding the game, rating board listings have been popping up all over the place for a game titled, Burnout Crash. Based on the ESRB’s listing, the game is set to crash onto the XBOX 360, and PS3, featuring a more unrealistic style than any games in the series’ past. Of course, EA is listed as the publisher yet again.
The content description describes a much more ‘cartoony’ experience than we’ve seen before. “From a top-down perspective,” it reads, “players initiate crashes by driving ‘cartoony’ vehicles (e.g., cars, trucks, vans and buses,) into busy intersections; multiple crashes trigger score multipliers and rack up large ‘bills’ of property damage.” This description also reveals that there are levels which urge players to destroy police cars before they get the opportunity to arrest them, as well as other levels which have you avoiding UFOs, tornadoes and ‘lobster monsters.’
Needless to say, this doesn’t sound anything like the Burnout games we’ve all played before. Hopefully it ends up being as fun as it is unique.
