CBS’s new hire appeared 1,700 times in Epstein’s files, and John Oliver just exposed his disturbing emails

Impossible to survive this burn!

Peter Attia, CBS’s longevity expert, has resigned from his role after facing heavy criticism over his connections to Jeffrey Epstein. His resignation came just one day after John Oliver publicly called out CBS on Last Week Tonight for keeping Attia on staff despite the controversy.

Attia, who is 52, was brought into CBS News in January by Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss. His resignation took effect immediately on Monday morning. His name appeared 1,700 times in the recently released Epstein files, pointing to what many have described as an uncomfortably close relationship between the two.

According to The Daily Beast, one email from Attia to Epstein in 2016 read, “P—y is, indeed, low carb. Still awaiting results on gluten content, though.” Despite this, CBS had initially stood by Attia after these details came to light. Oliver blasted both Attia and CBS over the situation. He pointed out that CBS News appeared to have lower standards than David Protein, a company that had previously let Attia go.

John Oliver’s public callout likely pushed CBS into finally acting

Oliver directly called out the health expert, stating how “comfortable far too many people were” with ignoring Epstein’s “heinous actions.” The Epstein files have continued to reveal troubling connections, including how Epstein recruited hackers to erase his criminal past from the internet.

Attia’s spokesperson later said he resigned “to ensure his involvement didn’t become a distraction from the important work being done at CBS.” It is widely believed that the pressure from Oliver’s segment played a significant role in the decision.

Beyond the Attia story, Oliver also addressed some corporate drama involving his own show. Last Week Tonight streams on HBO Max, which is owned by Warner Bros. Entertainment. That parent company is currently in the middle of a large sale, with Netflix and Paramount, CBS’s parent company, in a bidding war.

Paramount, owned by David Ellison, has increased its all-cash bid above Netflix’s supposed winning offer. The Epstein files have also shed light on other unexpected figures tied to him, such as Sarah Ferguson begging Epstein for employment as his house assistant.

Oliver, whose show has survived two previous corporate mergers, had a direct message for Paramount about a potential deal with CBS. He told them, “Please stay the f— away from us. You are not my real business daddy, and you never will be!”

Back in January, Oliver had commented on the eventual Warner Bros. takeover, saying his team would continue with “aggression” and “confidence,” adding that they have been behaving a certain way for so long that “you can’t really reason with us.”
