Crysis On Consoles Gets A Release Date

It's been a long time coming, but the original Crysis has just received a set in stone console release date. The Cry Engine 3 is allowing the game, which was notorious for over-exerting PC rigs, to come to both the PS3 and XBOX 360. When will that be? October 4. Just one week from now.

You can shoot up the jungle in spectacularly visceral fashion for $19.99 (1600 Microsoft Points). Look for the game to become available for download on both the PlayStation Network and XBOX Live Games On Demand.

The award-winning single-player campaign from the original Crysis is getting a makeover for its release on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network. The original release wowed players and critics alike with its mind-blowing visuals and deep sandbox gameplay. Now Crysis is poised to set a new benchmark for downloadable games with its all-new lighting, effects and other visual optimizationscourtesy of Crytek’s advanced CryENGINE3. But that’s not all — shooter fans everywhere will be treated to an updated gameplay experience with optimized Nanosuit controls, refined combat, and full stereoscopic 3D support.

The action of your campaign unfolds on a tropical island in the South China Sea in the year 2019. A team of US scientists makes a frightening discovery on the island, but the North Korean Government quickly seals off the area and contact with the team is lost. As tensions between North Korea and the United States rise, a massive alien ship reveals itself in the middle of the island. As a member of an elite Delta Force team, you must use your customizable Nanosuit to fight epic battles against the alien menace through stunning, photorealistic jungles and frozen landscapes.

Crysis will be available for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace and on the PlayStation Network on October 4 for just $19.99 or 1600 Microsoft Points.
