Does it sound crazy for Blizzard PC series Diablo to appear on 360 or PS3? It might just be the truth if Blizzard Entertainment CEO Mike Morhaime’s statements are taken seriously.
At the annual DICE Summit yesterday Morhaime stated:
I think you could make an argument that a game like Diablo might play very well on a console. It’s something that we’re actually doing an investigation into to see if that could make sense.
This wouldn’t be the first time a Blizzard PC title showed up on a home console. Diablo 1 came out on for PlayStation 1 back in 1998 and Starcraft 64 came out 2 years later on the Nintendo 64. Morhaime also stated that if there was a game that would be easiest to bring out on 360/PS3 that Diablo would be it. The problem with porting the game over is the PC-centric control scheme, but if the makers of Torchlight could do it, Blizzard definitely can. We’ll have to wait and see if this actually comes to fruition or if it’s just talk.
What do you think? Would Diablo III be a fit for consoles or would you prefer to play on the PC?
