Disney has an entire 10-episode ‘Alien vs. Predator’ animated series locked away in the vault that it refuses to share

Time for the Mouse House to put up or shut up.

Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox has put the Mouse House in the uniquely bizarre position of spearheading several iconic R-rated franchises, but despite developing new spins on the individual properties, it sounds as though the company has an entire Alien vs. Predator animated series locked away in the vault that it won’t share with the world.

Of course, maybe it’s got something to do with the fact Paul W.S. Anderson’s Alien vs. Predator was terrible and its sequel Requiem was somehow inconceivably worse, but it’s not as if the family-friendly conglomerate isn’t averse to breathing new life into a pair of the most iconic sci-fi creations of all-time.

Dan Trachtenberg’s Prey debuted on Hulu and instantly went down in the history books as the best-reviewed Predator movie yet, while Noah Hawley’s TV series and Fede Alvarez’s feature film are keeping Alien alive and well. Despite all of that, though, producer Dan Izzo recently revealed on the Perfect Organism podcast that a whole 10-episode anime is being kept under lock and key for unfathomable reasons.

“There is, sitting at Disney now, at 20th Studios, 10 episodes of a fully completed Alien vs. Predator anime series that I produced, It’s done. It’s in the can. It’s mixed; it’s finished. It was produced and story cracked by Eric Calderon and Dave Baker, two unbelievably crazy talented guys.”

There were rumors that such a thing existed, but when no tangible news ever emerged it was widely believed that it was nothing more than rumor and speculation. However, if Izzo is to be taken at his word, what’s the chances the gaps in the content library created by the recent Disney Plus and Hulu purges couldn’t open up a little bit of space for Alien vs. Predator?
