Doug Ellin Still Wants An Entourage Movie

Entourage creator Doug Ellin is still adamant on bringing the show to the silver screen. Deadline is reporting that executive producer Mark Wahlberg is even willing to finance the film to get it made. And honestly, do you blame them? An Entourage movie is a great idea and after the success of the Sex and the City films, I can't see why this wouldn't get made.

Entourage creator Doug Ellin is still adamant on bringing the show to the silver screen. Deadline is reporting that executive producer Mark Wahlberg is even willing to finance the film to get it made. And honestly, do you blame them? An Entourage movie is a great idea and after the box office success of the Sex and the City films, I can’t see why this wouldn’t get made.

“If I had to finance it myself, I would do it,” executive producer Mark Wahlberg said. “I’ve been telling Doug, The Hangover is to me very much like Entourage, and look at all the recent success of R-rated movies.”

“We’re going to do a movie,” Ellin said. “We’re going to do it, the questing is when and how quickly. Hopefully we’ll come down with an idea and make it happen.”

A movie has been rumored for a while now but it’s mostly just been talk, nothing official has really come to light yet. Despite the recent drop in quality that the show has seen over the past few seasons, I’m all for a movie. I need more Entourage in my life now that the show is coming to a close. The final season has already begun and it’s going to be over before we know it.

I’ve followed these characters and the show from the very start and I’m sure I can speak on behalf of all fans when I say that we would be thrilled to see a film. And who knows, if it does well, there could even be a sequel. While Entourage may be coming to a close on the small screen, perhaps its future lies in theatres. Possible film franchise anyone? I’m down.
