Armchair soldiers can enlist themselves into the open Battlefield 3 beta starting today. It’s now available on the Xbox 360 and PC, though PS3 users will apparently have to wait until later today to join.
Preview battles take place on the much-talked about Operation Metro map, which has a design which focuses on infantry. Two sides attack each other in the multiplayer rush mode, where one team is forced to defend objectives as the other tries to do the opposite.
The Battlefield 3 beta goes offline on October 10; fifteen days before the full game releases on October 25.
