Fiction Comes To Life In Alan Wake’s American Nightmare Trailer

Now, a couple of years after his retail debut, Alan Wake is coming back to the Xbox 360. His next outing, which is aptly titled Alan Wake's American Nightmare, will be a bit different than its predecessor, however. Instead of being a full, disc-based release, the game will be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade instead. Delivering a different storyline, it will be easy for those who skipped the last release, to jump into. For an (assumed) affordable price, to boot.

It makes sense that, in a battle between light and dark, a light source can defeat evil. That’s something which Remedy Entertainment nailed with its release of Alan Wake – a well-liked survival horror game which set itself apart from the pack. Telling the creep-filled story of a writer whose writer’s block damning trip to the woods becomes a written nightmare come true, its battle system focused on a flashlight and flares.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare once again presents a world where fiction has come to life. The titular wordsmith must race and battle against his nemesis, Mr. Scratch, a supernatural serial killer who is Hellbent on harming Wake’s wife. What ensues is a game that mixes adrenaline-fueled arcade action with a pulp-action-adventure storyline. Sounds good to me.
